One of the things I love about a good Black hair salon in Mississauga like Crown & Glory is that there are an array of styles to choose. Braids, weaves, and everything in between — they have a style for every mood. Here are just a few styles that caught my eye:

Braids are both fashionable and protective. I thought I’d have a go at some box braids and I was pretty pleased with the results. They were beautiful to wear and easy to take care of. And the stylist was so fast and so precise that I found the process a lot of fun.

After my braids, I was ready to flaunt my natural curls. The salon has a curl defining treatment that made my hair glossy and springy. Felt so freeing in being able to rock my natural hair and feel confident about it!

If you want something little bit different, Crown & Glory are also pros in weaves and extensions. I saw other customers try them on and I marvelled at their versatility. One of the most valuable things I learned from my stylist at the salon was how to take care of my hair between visits. The stylists have been generous with some tips and tricks to keep my hair healthy and nourished such as: Regular Moisturizing moisturize meine hair, ya’ll! Now, I apply leave-in conditioner and an oil.

• Protective Styles: Protective styles, help prevent breakage and retain length. — Regular Trims: I learnt the hard way and realized that getting my ends trimmed every 3 months or so is a must for healthy hair growth.

Community and Culture

A big part of the Black hair salon in Mississauga is the sense of community. When I’ve stopped by, I’ve met such wonderful people, who share stories, laughter and a love of hair. It’s a place to celebrate our heritage and beauty, and I value the people I have met on the platform.
